Vintage Pair of Polk Loudspeakers For Sale.
Available for purchase from the classic Polk Monitor series are the Monitor 4’s. These loudspeakers can be classified as in very good to excellent shape. They are a two-way ported design speaker featuring a 6.5” woofer and a dome tweeter. Cabinet size is 14-1/2" H x 8-1/2" W x 7-1/2" D, and weight approximately 23 lbs.One of Polk’s goal in producing the Monitor series was to achieve an open, boxless, three dimensional sound. These speakers are capable of producing a wide soundstage that extend beyond the speaker enclosures.
The woofers use in the Monitor 4’s are the MW6502. They are used in several classic Monitor speakers including the Monitor 5’s and Montior 7’s.. The woofers in these Monitors 4’s were replaced with new MW6502 woofers purchased direct from Polk for around $100 four years ago. They have been babied and not pushed hard.
